La Meilleraye-de-Bretagne ( Breton : Melereg-Breizh , Gallo : La Melherae is a) French municipality with 1527 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire ; it is part of the arrondissement of Châteaubriant-Ancenis and the canton of Châteaubriant (until 2015: Moisdon-la-Rivière ). The inhabitants are called Meilleréens .

La Meilleraye-de-Bretagne is located about 65 kilometers south-southeast of Rennes and about 39 kilometers north-northeast of Nantes . La Meilleraye-de-Bretagne is surrounded by the neighboring communities Moisdon-la-Rivière in the north, Grand-Auverné in the east and northeast, Riaillé in the east and southeast, Joué-sur-Erdre in the south, Abbaretz in the southwest and Issé in the northwest.
