Mouais ( Breton : Lanvoe ) is a French municipality with 385 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Châteaubriant-Ancenis and the canton of Guémené-Penfao (until 2015: canton of Derval ). The inhabitants are called Mouaisiens .

geography

Mouais is located about 53 kilometers north-northwest of Nantes on the river Chère . Mouais is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Grand-Fougeray in the north and west, La Dominelais in the north and northeast, Sion-les-Mines in the east, Lusanger in the southeast and Derval in the south.

Route nationale 137 runs through the west of the municipality .
