Massérac ( Breton : Merzhereg ) is a commune with 691 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Châteaubriant-Ancenis and is part of the canton of Guémené-Penfao . The inhabitants are called Masséracéens .

geography

Massérac is located about 57 kilometers north-north-west of Nantes on the Vilaine , which forms the northern border of the municipality and into which the Don River flows on the western edge of the municipality. Massérac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Chapelle-de-Brain in the north, Langon in the northeast, Guémené-Penfao in the south and east and Avessac in the west and southwest.
