Grandchamps-des-Fontaines (also: Grandchamp-des-Fontaines ; Breton: Gregamp-ar-Feunteunioù ) is a French municipality with 6016 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . Grandchamps-des-Fontaines belongs to the arrondissement of Châteaubriant-Ancenis and the canton of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre . The inhabitants are called Grandchampenois .
geography
Grandchamps-des-Fontaines is located about 20 kilometers north of the city center of Nantes , in the valley of the Gesvres river , which flows into the Erdre . Grandchamps-des-Fontaines is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Héric in the north and north-west, Casson in the north and north-east, Sucé-sur-Erdre in the east, La Chapelle-sur-Erdre in the south-east, Treillières in the south and Notre-Dame-des-Landes in the West.
The national route 137 runs through the municipality .
