Malville ( Breton : Kerwall ) is a French municipality with 3463 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Nazaire and the canton of Blain (until 2015: canton of Savenay ). The inhabitants are called Malvillois .
geography
Malville is located about 30 kilometers northwest of Nantes in the swampy area north of the Loire estuary. Malville is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Fay-de-Bretagne in the north and east, Le Temple-de-Bretagne in the east and south-east, Cordemais in the south, Bouée in the south-west and Savenay in the west.
Route Nationale 165 runs through the municipality .
history
The occupation by German troops in World War II lasted beyond the war in Malville: the place next to the neighboring towns was not handed over until May 11, 1945.
