Montoir-de-Bretagne ( Breton : Mouster-al-Loc'h ) is a French municipality with 7088 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . Montoir-de-Bretagne belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Nazaire and the canton of Saint-Nazaire-2 . The inhabitants are called Montoirins .
geography
Montoir-de-Bretagne is located on the north bank of the Loire in the landscape Brière in the Regional Natural Park of Brière . Montoir-de-Bretagne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Malo-de-Guersac in the north, Donges in the east, Corsept in the south on the other side of the Loire, Saint-Nazaire in the west and Trignac in the north-west.
Saint-Nazaire-Montoir Airport and a port for methane gas landing are in the municipality . The former Route nationale 771 (N 171) and the Tours – Saint-Nazaire railway line pass through Montoir-de-Bretagne . The Sablé – Montoir-de-Bretagne railway and a branch of the Chemins de fer du Morbihan ended here .
