Bleifeld is a district of Rösrath in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . The place has around 450 inhabitants. Bleifeld owes its name to the nearby mining on the Lüderich , where the Romans dug for lead near the spring shaft.

history

A document for the year 1368 mentions on March 24th 1374 a fiefdom of those from Rennenberg zu Bleifeld . In 1828 there were 15 houses with 71 inhabitants in Bleifeld.

Mining

From the 12./13. The tug in the Bergisches Museum for Mining, Crafts and Trades in Bensberg , which was found at a depth of 60 m in an old man near the spring shaft around 1900, dates back to the 19th century . Lead field is located on what was once the largest ore deposit that existed in the Bensberg ore district . It was called the Hanging Summer . Around two thirds of the total material conveyed by the Lüderich mine was extracted here between the mid-1950s and its closure in 1978. In the vicinity of Bleifeld there was further mining at the mines Grube Anacker , Grube Aurora , Grube Gustav Bischof , Gruben Nestor and Peter , Grube Schnepfenthal , Grube Volta , Grube Wallenstein and Grube Wallenstein II .
