Lehmbach is a district of the town of Rösrath in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . To the east, it borders the Hopesthal district, initially with a larger commercial area and subsequent residential area.

history

The oldest mention of Lehmbach comes from around 1100. The manor Lehmbach belonged to the manor of Sulsen and Berg at that time ; Sulsen stands for today's Immekeppel . In the 17th century Lehmbach is mentioned as the court court of the lower jurisdiction . After the farm was split up, an inn was set up in the Lehmbach house in 1876. Around 1900 it developed into an abundant excursion restaurant with a stagecoach stop and later the Kraftpost stop.

railroad

On the Cologne-Mülheim-Lindlar railway line, the section from Hoffnungsthal to Immekeppel was released in 1891. At this time, the trains ran without stopping from Hoffnungsthal to Untereschbach . During the Second World War , the Lehmbach-based company Mickeleit manufactured installation products for the Todt organization and was thus a so-called war - important company. In 1943, Lehmbach was given its own breakpoint so that the material could be removed and delivered more quickly . This stop remained until the line was closed. In the 1950s there was a small bus shelter here where you could buy tickets. Today there is a snack bar at this point.
