The Nestor and Peter mines are former non-ferrous metal ore mines in the Bensberg ore district in Rösrath . They lay next to each other between Johannisberg, Bleifeld and Honrath .

history

First of all it must be stated that the two pit fields Nestor and Peter are mentioned in the same breath. Although there are two adjacent fields, they are listed on a joint situation map dated September 21, 1874. In addition, all documents are stored in a common authorization file. Only individual prospecting work has been carried out here, so that it can be assumed that there was no overall profitability.

The date of speculation is not known for the Nestor mine . On July 29, 1874, the field boundaries were clarified. The final hearing on the prospect of iron , lead , zinc and copper ores dates from August 14, 1874. Pit field Peter

The AG Phönix zu Laar assumed the pit field through his Steiger Stader on January 15, 1873. Because of the demarcation there were disputes, which were negotiated on July 29, 1874. After the final hearing on August 14, 1873, a new decision was made on February 19, 1874. The award was then made on September 21, 1874 on iron, zinc, lead and copper ores. Excluded from the award were the pit fields that had already been awarded, such as Grube Gustav Bischof , Grube Wallenstein and Grube Wallenstein II . Nothing is known about operational activities.
