Pickpockets is a German film drama from 1921 directed by Emil Justitz .

Kund, the main character in the plot, seduces Rita, a married, young woman from good company. He causes the seduced to give him 30,000 marks (8,000 euros). In possession of this money, the pickpocket does not start a new lifestyle, but instead marries the daughter of a criminal. He cynically explains to the deceived woman that the marriage with the other only came about because she gave him the money. Thereupon the defrauded reports. The pickpocket avenges himself by telling the betrayed man of his seduction. Rita is then expelled by her husband and expelled from the house, whereupon the pickpocket takes her to a brothel.

Censorship decision

The film was banned on December 29, 1920 in a version of 2404 meters (No. 21.20).
