Bouée ( Gallo : Boey , Breton Bozeg ) is a commune with 991 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Nazaire and the canton of Blain . The inhabitants are called Bouésiens / Bouésiennes (sometimes also Bouéziens / Bouéziennes).

location

Bouée is north of the Loire . The municipality includes the village, the hamlet of Rohars and numerous small settlements and individual farms. The place is about 24 kilometers east-northeast of the city of Saint-Nazaire in the west of the Loire-Atlantique department. The city of Nantes is only 29 kilometers to the southeast.

Neighboring municipalities are Savenay in the north, Malville in the northeast, Cordemais in the east, Le Pellerin in the southeast, Frossay in the south and Lavau-sur-Loire in the west.

history

The community belonged to the Savenay district from 1793 to 1801. From 1801 to 1868 it was part of the Savenay arrondissement. Since then, it has been an administrative part of the Arrondissemt of Saint-Nazaire . From 1793 to 2015, the municipality was within the canton of Savenay .
