The court astrologist Seni in front of Wallenstein's corpse is a painting by Carl Theodor von Piloty from 1855. It is exhibited in the Neue Pinakothek in Munich. It was painted on canvas with oil paints. In 1855 the painting wasbought from the artist by King Ludwig I.

motive

The historical picture shows the just murdered Albrecht Wenzel Eusebius von Waldstein ( called "Wallenstein") lying on the ground. His personal physician and astrologer Giovanni Battista Seni stands in mourning .

The motif is based on Friedrich Schiller's Wallenstein trilogy.
