Lavau-sur-Loire ( Breton : Gwal-Liger ) is a French municipality with 767 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Nazaire and the canton of Blain (until 2015: canton of Savenay ). The inhabitants are called Lavausiens .
geography
Lavau-sur-Loire is located about 32 kilometers west-northwest of Nantes on the Sillon de Bretagne range of hills . Lavau-sur-Loire is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Savenay in the north, Bouée in the east, Frossay in the south and south-east and La Chapelle-Launay in the west.
