Paimbœuf is a French commune with 3,090 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Nazaire and the canton of Saint-Brevin-les-Pins . The inhabitants are called paimblotins .
geography
Paimbœuf is located around 45 kilometers west of Nantes on the Loire estuary in the Pays de Retz . Paimbœuf is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Corsept in the west, Saint-Père-en-Retz in the south and Saint-Viaud in the east. On the opposite (north) side of the estuary are the communities of Donges in the north and north-west, La Chapelle-Launay in the north-east and Frossay in the east and north-east.
The former Route nationale 23 (today's D723) coming from Chartres ends in the municipality .

In May 1918, the US armed forces set up a base for naval aviators here, which was closed again with the Compiègne armistice.,
