Pierre-Louis Basse (born August 14, 1958 in Paimbœuf , Loire-Atlantique ) is a French journalist and writer. His grandfather survived the Mauthausen concentration camp . After finishing school, Pierre-Louis attended a preparatory class and became a French teacher. Until 2011 he worked for the private radio station Europe 1 for 30 years .

He published on football and history, such as Un rêve modeste et fou in 1993 , the biography of footballer Éric Cantona . From September 1, 2014, he was an advisor to French President François Hollande for major events.
