Trignac is a French municipality with 7868 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . Trignac belongs to the Arrondissement of Saint-Nazaire and the Canton of Saint-Nazaire-2 . The inhabitants are called Trignacais .
geography
Trignac is located a little above the north bank of the Loire in the Brière countryside on the Brivet River , near the Atlantic . The northern part of the municipality is part of the Brière Regional Nature Park . Trignac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Joachim in the north, Montoir-de-Bretagne in the east and Saint-Nazaire in the south and west.
The national route 171 runs through the municipality . The localities Aucard , Bert , Certé and Trembly belong to the municipality.
