The Brivet is a river in France that runs in the Loire-Atlantique department in the Pays de la Loire region . It is created by the confluence of several drainage canals on the municipal boundary between Drefféac and Sainte-Anne-sur-Brivet . This is where the Canal de la Curée , Canal de la Fleur and Canal Joseph flow, which drain the wetlands in the Saint-Gildas-des-Bois basin. The Brivet generally flows in a south-westerly direction through the La Brière landscape and finally reaches the Brière Regional Nature Park , where it is used to supply water to this biotope via the Canal de Rosé and the Canal de Trignac . After a total of 35 kilometers, the Brivet flows into the estuary of the Loire River at Saint-Nazaire , which is formally part of the Atlantic Ocean .
