Charles-Edouard Pascal Marie Daniel Bouée (born May 17, 1969 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) is a French management consultant . He joined Roland Berger in 2001 as a Senior Partner and was elected Chief Executive Officer in 2014. He gave up this position in 2019. Bouée deals intensively with management theories and disruptive technologies .

Bouée grew up in the greater Paris area. The mother was a local politician and deputy mayor of Boulogne-Billancourt . The father worked in banking. Bouée attended the Roman Catholic Jesuit school Lycée Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague in Paris and the Lycée privé Sainte-Geneviève in Versailles. He then switched to the engineering school École Centrale Paris , where he obtained a Master of Science degree. At the same time he studied law at the University of Paris-Nanterre , which gave him a Master of Laws . Bouée completed his studies with a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School .

Bouée is married and has two daughters.

Career

In 1991 Bouée entered professional life. He first worked in investment banking at the major bank Société Générale in Paris and London. In 1993 he decided to switch to management consultancy : After an interlude at Connex Personnel Consulting, Bouée hired the renowned US company Booz Allen Hamilton . From 1994 he worked for the competitor AT Kearney , where he rose to Senior Partner in 1997.

In 2001 Bouée finally came to Roland Berger as a Senior Partner. From Paris he headed, among other things, the competence center for the financial sector. In 2006 he was appointed head of the Far East regional division, and from 2009 he was responsible for the entire Asian region. From Shanghai , Bouée multiplied sales and established numerous new branches. Since then he has been regarded as a proven expert, especially for the People's Republic of China .

In addition, Bouée took over the management of the business in France, Belgium, Italy, Spain and Morocco in 2010. He was already on the company's global governance body when he was named Chief Operating Officer in 2013 . In this position, Bouée played a key role in the operational development of Roland Berger after the failed takeover by Deloitte. In 2014 the partners of the management consultancy finally elected him Chief Executive Officer . With the French, a foreigner moved to the top of Roland Berger for the first time. On July 1, 2014, Bouée took over from Burkhard Schwenker , who returned to the Supervisory Board as chairman .

Bouée initiated a comprehensive restructuring. Traditional skills in the field of restructuring and strategy consulting moved back into focus. In addition, Roland Berger increasingly relied on collaborations, for example with Rocket Internet and E-Ventures. The management structures have been modernized. In 2015 Roland Berger presented its new brand identity. Business developed positively under Bouée's leadership, and in 2018 the partners elected him again as Chief Executive Officer .

In June 2019, Bouée surprisingly announced his resignation.

Since then he has been working for the startup Augustus Intelligence .

Publications

Bouée has published several specialist books . In "China's Management Revolution - Spirit, Land, Energy" from 2011, he analyzes the new management style of Chinese corporate leaders and its effects on the global economy. With “Light Footprint Management: Leadership in Times of Change”, Bouée presented a concept in 2013 that describes the challenges and opportunities of digital forms of organization. The two novels “Confucius et les automates” (2014) and “La chute de l'Empire humain” (2017), which were created together with the journalist François Roche, are dedicated to robotics and artificial intelligence .
