In addition to the visual structures, the deep structures are part of the teaching levels and thus define the structure of the teaching.

Definition of terms

The term deep structures serves as a generic term for the teaching and learning processes taking place in the classroom. In these processes is the way learners with training and theoretical training and work around the between learners and teachers running interactions . The processes are divided into classroom management , cognitive activation and constructive support.

Class leadership

If one considers the ability of a teacher to direct the lesson and steer it in the desired direction, one speaks of class management. In order to be able to guarantee high-quality teaching, a teacher must succeed in ensuring that learners focus on the teaching material for as long as possible ( time on task ).

Cognitive activation

For successful teaching, cognitive activation is just as important as class management. This activation serves as an incentive for the learners to deal with the subject matter. This can be achieved, for example, by activating previous knowledge on a certain topic, but also by a mental challenge that motivates the learner to think about a topic.

Constructive support

The constructive support is the assistance provided by the teacher on a topic or a task. The teacher acts as a kind of advisor to help learners find the solution to a problem.
