The Canton Nantes-5 ( Breton Canton Naoned-5 ) is a French canton in the Arrondissement of Nantes , in the Loire-Atlantique and the region Pays de la Loire .
history
The canton was founded in 1790. By dividing the city of Nantes into further cantons, its area steadily decreased. In its current form, it was created when the French cantons were re-divided in 2015.

The canton is located in the center of the Loire-Atlantique department.

In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, the team Lyliane Jean / Ali Rebouh (both PS) won against Patricia Rio / Jean-Philippe Thoiry (both Union de la Droite) with a share of the vote of 57.33% (voter turnout: 42.54% ).
