The Ognon is a river in France that runs in the Pays de la Loire region . It rises in the municipality of Saint-Sulpice-le-Verdon , drains generally in a north-westerly direction and flows after 50 kilometers at the municipal boundary of La Chevrolière and Saint-Aignan-Grandlieu into the Lac de Grand Lieu and finally into the Acheneau river , which flows through the Forms outflow of the lake. This wetland is a natural landscape worth preserving and registered under Natura 2000 under code FR5200625. On its way, the Ognon crosses the Vendée and Loire-Atlantique departments .
