Sautron ( Breton Saotron ) is a French municipality with 8192 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the northwestern outskirts of Nantes in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . Sautron belongs to the arrondissement of Nantes and the canton of Saint-Herblain-1 . The inhabitants call themselves Sautronnais (es) .

geography

Sautron is about ten kilometers northwest of Nantes on the Cens River . Sautron is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vigneux-de-Bretagne in the north, Orvault in the east, Saint-Herblain in the southeast, Couëron in the south and Saint-Étienne-de-Montluc in the west.

Route nationale 165 , which merges into the A82 car route , runs through the municipality .
