Haute-Goulaine ( Breton : Gorre-Golen , Langues d'oïl : Hautt-Góleinn ) is a French municipality with 5764 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Nantes and the canton of Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire . The inhabitants are called Goulainais .
geography
Haute-Goulaine is about 10 kilometers southeast of Nantes , south of the Loire , in the vineyards of the Vignoble nantais . Haute-Goulaine is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Julien-de-Concelles in the north, Le Loroux-Bottereau in the northeast, La Chapelle-Heulin in the east and southeast, La Haie-Fouassière in the south, Vertou in the southwest and Basse-Goulaine in the west and northwest.
The Muscadet Sèvre et Maine and Gros Plant du Pays Nantais wine-growing areas also extend into the municipality.
The national route 249 runs through the municipality .
