The free game world championship in 1930 was the third UIFAB world championship in the free game. The tournament took place from February 24th to March 1st in Barcelona , Spain.

history

For the first time a world championship in the free game with 10 participants was played. All old world records were broken again in this tournament. In the preliminary round, the Spaniard Juan Butrón managed to improve the world record of his countryman Raimundo Vives in the best individual game (BED) to 166.66 . In the final round succeeded Butrón in the match against January Dommering in the fifth recording the game with a shot series of 491 to finish. That was also a new world record in the highest series (HS). The new and old world champion Edmond Soussa set the third world record . He improved his old world record in general average (GD) from 1928 to 33.44 .

Tournament mode

It was played in two groups of five players in a preliminary round in round robin mode. The last two in each group were eliminated. The remaining eight players played the world championship against each other in round robin mode. The games against the eliminated players were not counted in the final round. In the event of a tie, the following order will be applied:

  1. MP = match points
  2. GD = general average
  3. HS = maximum series
