The county Gyula (Hungarian Gyulai járás ) is a district in the northwest of the South East Hungarian Békés County . It borders Hajdú-Bihar County in the north and Romania (3 border communities) in the east . During the Hungarian administrative reform in early 2013, the district emerged unchanged from the small area of the same name ( Gyulai kistérség ).
Gyula County has an average community size of 10,045 inhabitants in an area of ​​103.31 square kilometers. The population density of the third most populous district is higher than that of the county. The administrative seat is the city of Gyula in the north of the district.
