Mezőkovácsháza (Hungarian Mezőkovácsházai járás ) is a district in the south of Békés County in southeastern Hungary . It emerged in the course of the Hungarian administrative reform as the successor to the small area of the same name (Hungarian Mezőkovácsházai kistérség ) in unchanged allocation. 4 of the 18 municipalities are border municipalities with Romania.
