The free game world championship in 1939 was the twelfth UIFAB world championship in the free game. The tournament took place from March 29th to April 2nd in Lausanne , Switzerland .

history

The Portuguese Alfredo Ferraz was the first player to achieve an average of more than 100 in a World Cup in the free game. The new world record in the general average (GD) has been 106.36 since Lausanne . After many good placings and records that he had achieved in previous world championships, it was his first title. The performances of other players were also of a high standard. After the annexation of Austria, Leo Dekner and Eduard Leutgeb had to take part in the tournament as Germans.

Tournament mode
