The free game world championship in 1933 was the sixth UIFAB world championship in the free game. The tournament took place from May 24th to 27th in Lille , France.

history

The only 20-year-old Walter Joachim from Berlin surprisingly became world champion in the free game in Lille. He is only the second German after Albert Poensgen to achieve the title of world champion. The title came as a surprise because Joachim only received the invitation five days before the start of the tournament. At the last World Cup, his performance was actually too bad and therefore no German player was planned for the World Cup. He started the tournament with wins against Albert , de Lerena and de Leeuw with wins in 8, 19 and 3 shots. This was followed by a defeat 8: 500 in five shots against the 1931 world champion Théo Moons from Belgium. The last game against the current world champion Juan Butrón had to win Joachim because Ferraz and Albert were in the general average (GD) in front of him. With a score of 337: 291 for him, he finished the game with a final series of 163 points in the 14th admission and was deserved world champion with only one defeat.
