The list of natural forest reserves in Schleswig-Holstein contains 16 (as of March 2017) natural forest reserves in Schleswig-Holstein .

Current natural forest reserves

The list contains the official designations for name, identifier, natural area , size and the year of designation. The geographical location is averaged and the indication of the district / town relates to this indication. However, the areas can also extend over several districts.

For about 40 years (more since the nature conservation year 1970), natural forest reserves have been designated throughout Germany in order to preserve a range of total reserves. Natural forest reserves are forests that are largely in a natural state. The natural forest development takes place here undisturbed. In the course of time, primeval forests with strong trees and a lot of dead wood develop there . In Schleswig-Holstein there are currently 16 such natural forest reserves with an area of ​​516 hectares.

Former natural forest reserves

In addition, there were other natural forest reserves such as the Wulfsfelder Moor (identifier 1.08). The forest, in the edge of which remains of a former coppice forest use , was designated as a natural forest cell in 1987. In 2018 it was no longer included in the list of natural forest reserves.
