The free game world championship in 1932 was the fifth UIFAB world championship in the free game. The tournament took place from August 3rd to 9th in Espinho , Portugal.

history

For the first time, a free game world championship with 13 participants was held. In the final round, however, only eight players were rated. After finishing fourth and sixth at the previous world championships, the Spaniard Juan Butrón was able to secure the title for the first time. In doing so, he equalized two world records. At his last World Cup in the free game, Edmond Soussa was able to achieve second place again in front of the French Jacques Davin. The 19-year-old Walter Joachim started for Germany for the first time . He finished the tournament in seventh place. His debut at international tournaments gave the Austrians B Ernst Reicher , who later became world and European champions in the cover .

Tournament mode

It was played in two groups of six or seven players in a preliminary round in round robin mode. The two or three last in each group were eliminated. The remaining eight players played the world championship against each other in round robin mode. The games against the eliminated players were not counted in the final round. In the event of a tie, the following order will be applied:

  1. MP = match points
  2. GD = general average
  3. HS = maximum series
