Career

The son of a coffee maker started playing billiards at the age of 7. Van de Pol, who is almost 2 meters tall, taught billiards in his father's bar in Charlois / Rotterdam. He was a natural and at thirteen he was a member of the De Spiel billiards association . He later moved to De Maasstad and soon found his love for the cadre game.

When he participated in the Dutch championship in 1932 and 1933, he won the title in both years, which was the beginning of his successful career.
