The 1967 Cadre 47/2 World Championship was the 38th World Championship, which was held until 1947 in Cadre 45/2 and from 1948 in Cadre 47/2. The tournament took place in Cairo from February 6-10, 1967 . It was the only Cadre World Championship in Egypt.
history
At this world championship in Cairo, all previously achieved world records were clearly surpassed. The Frenchman Jean Marty was the first to play in Cadre 47/2 with 102.85 a general average (GD) of over 100 points per recording. He finished a game in just one shot. So 400.00 . He also outbid Jos Vervest's top series by 34 points to 400 . At that time, world records could only be set at world championships. Several records have already been set at European championships. In 1958 in Ghent, the Dutchman Piet van de Pol was the first to finish a game up to 400 internationally in just one recording. Tini Wijnen equalized this record in Heerlen in 1965 and Jean Marty in Bern in 1966. Marty already played a GD of 94.26 here.
