The 1926 Cadre 45/2 World Championship was the 19th World Championship, which was held in Cadre 45/2 until 1947 and from 1948 in Cadre 47/2. The tournament took place from April 15 to 24, 1926 in Paris , France.
history
The 1926 World Cup in Paris suffered from the cancellation of the best French cadre players. Charles Faroux , ex-world champion in Cadre 45/2, was absent, among other things, because he was also closely connected to motor racing in France. He took part in the famous Targa Florio car race at the same time as the World Championship . Once again, four players were tied at the top after the end of the World Cup. There were stitch games again from which the Belgian Théo Moons emerged as the clear winner.
Tournament mode
The whole tournament was played in the round robin system up to 400 points. In the event of a tie in MPs (except in the event of a tie for the winner), the following order will be used:
- MP = match points
- GD = general average
- HS = maximum series
history
After the main tournament was over, the first four players had the same number of match points 6-4. A decision was played with all four players in round robin mode. Here Jan Dommering won all three games and became the Cadre 45/2 world champion in 1925.
