The Cadre 47/2 World Championship in 1969 was the 39th World Championship, which was held until 1947 in Cadre 45/2 and from 1948 in Cadre 47/2. The tournament took place in Groningen from May 29th to June 1st, 1969 . After 1934 and 1937 it was the third Cadre 47/2 (45/2) World Championship in Groningen.

After two third places at Cadre 47/2 World Championships, Belgian Antoine Schrauwen was finally able to celebrate his first and only world championship title. He won all of his games and also played the best general average (GD) with 84.84. Second was Ludo Dielis from Belgium , who was only 24 years old . The Dutchman Henk Scholte set the world record for the best individual average (BED) with 400.00.

Tournament mode
