history
A very well organized world championship was won by the Dutchman Hans Vultink . Even after 41 years there could have been a German world champion again. Vultink lost his game in the fifth round against Roland Dufetelle in three shots. So it came in the seventh and last round of the duel between Dieter Müller and Hans Vultink. Müller reached a draw for the title. He led in the third take by 290: 232. Then Vultink finished the game with a final streak of 268 and won his first title in Cadre 47/2. In the game against the Argentine Emilio Yazbek, Vultink won the game in one shot and thus equalized the world record in the best individual average (BED). He just missed the world record in the extended series. This record was held by Ludo Dielis with 772 points. Vultink only managed 735 points extended.
