The Cadre 45/2 World Championship in 1939 was the 32nd World Championship, which was held until 1947 in Cadre 45/2 and from 1948 in Cadre 47/2. The tournament took place in Amsterdam from March 2nd to 5th, 1939 . It was the fourth Cadre 45/2 World Championship in the Netherlands and the last before the war.
history
Again the Belgian René Gabriëls was unbeatable . He has once again improved all of the world records he set in Cadre 45/2 last year. The general average over a tournament (GD) improved from 45.90 to 48.27 . He improved the world record for the best individual average (BED) by one recording to 133.33 . The new series world record has stood at 324 since 1939 . The World Cup almost ended tragically for Gabriëls. The last match against the also unbeaten Constant Côte was extremely close. Gabriëls played his worst game in the tournament and Côte had several chances to end the game. With a score of 378: 377 in the 14th recording, Gabriëls then ended the game with 23 points. Cote had no follow-up.
