The Cadre 47/2 World Championship in 1949 was the 34th World Championship, which was held in Cadre 45/2 until 1947 and from 1948 in Cadre 47/2. The tournament took place in Amsterdam from March 31 to April 3, 1949 . It was the fifth Cadre 45/2 and 47/2 world championships in the Netherlands.
history
The first Cadre 47/2 World Championship was won by the last Cadre 45/2 World Champion Piet van de Pol . In the final against the four-time Cadre 45/2 world champion René Gabriëls , van de Pol finished the game after 226: 248 deficit with a final series of 174 points. Gabriëls only scored 76 points in the follow-up. Since this world championship was the first in Cadre 47/2, all results were world records. The 29-year-old Clément van Hassel, who is taking part in a Cadre World Championship for the first time, played a very good world record in the best individual average (BED) of 133.33 with 400: 9 in three recordings against Kees de Ruijter .
