action

Commissioner Jo Denninger's uncle, Max von Lahnstein, is in prison . He is charged with killing the real estate agent Harald Giese in his office. Denninger wants to prove his uncle's innocence and investigates together with his friend Schumann. The local police are not happy about Denninger's interference. As initial research shows, Giese was planning to build a senior citizens' residence and was looking for wealthy investors, including Denninger's uncle. However, it looks as if Giese never intended to tackle a construction project of this magnitude, rather it was all about misleading investors and enriching himself. When Giese's business partner, Tina Braase, found out about this, she was very surprised. She helps Denninger find the cheated investors, because obviously the killer is among them. The potential investor Jakobi also appears suspicious, especially since he is prone to violence and is extremely burdened by his testimony to the Lahnstein police.

Obviously, the killer also looted Giese's safe and stole around 300,000 euros. Evidently, the investor Rainer Scholten was in Giese's apartment recently. Scholten also admits to having spent the afternoon with the man, but denies having anything to do with the murder. Nevertheless, he is arrested by the police. Denninger, however, is skeptical, especially since shortly after Scholten's arrest he sees Jakobi and Tina Braase partying together, which both makes him suspicious. This also explains why Braase was so willing to help Denninger, even though she hardly knew him.

Scholten is now fleeing from custody because he wants to prove his innocence at all costs. Surprisingly for him, Denninger offers him his help, which looks like they want to set a trap for Tina Braase. This succeeds and means that Denninger can secure the money stolen from Giese from the broker. But Braase is smarter than Denninger expected, because she overpowers him and flees to Jacobi with the money. He should bring them to the mainland in his boat. With Schumann's help, Denninger follows her and prevents her from fleeing any further. After calling the police, Tina Braase is arrested. She alone was responsible for the fraudulent investments. When Harald Giese found out about her and tried to confront her, she killed him without further ado.
