The Man with Two Faces is a German television film by Gloria Behrens from 2001. It is the second film in the ZDF crime series Denninger - The Mallorcakrimi .

action

Commissioner Jo Denninger from the Federal Criminal Police Office spends his free time on the Balearic island of Mallorca . During his vacation time, however, he quickly returned to work because the concerned Karina Stern turned to him. Stern believes she saw her husband, who is said to have died in a fire five years ago, on the beach. Denninger takes on the case and initiates appropriate search maneuvers and police investigations. In fact, he can locate Gerald Stern, who admits that he only staged his death. But then Merle Stern, the daughter of Karina and Gerald Stern, is kidnapped.

The man with the two faces was filmed in Mallorca and the surrounding area. On March 31, 2001 the film was first broadcast on ORF2 . When it was first broadcast in Germany on April 7, 2001 on ZDF , the Mallorca crime was followed by 4.6 million viewers. Thereupon the ZDF decided to establish Denninger as a film series with Gregor Törzs .

criticism

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm particularly praised the acting performance of Miroslav Nemec and wrote: “Good thing: Nemec mixes Denninger up”.
