The 2003 Cadre 47/2 World Championship was the 43rd World Championship, which was held in Cadre 45/2 until 1947 and from 1948 in Cadre 47/2. The tournament took place from October 30th to November 2nd, 2003 in Ronchin . It was the 21st Cadre 47/2 (45/2) World Championship in France. Due to the decreased interest of players and spectators in this discipline, it will be the last World Cup.
100 years after the first Cadre 45/2 World Championship in Paris, Ronchin hosted what was probably the last Cadre 47/2 World Championship. It was a world championship in which all previous records were surpassed. Since the game distance was played up to a maximum of 300 points, the best individual average (BED) of 400.00 and the highest series were no longer achievable. The new and thus the last world champion in Cadre 47/2 is Frédéric Caudron . Caudron finished all games in the knockout phase in one shot. Since no extended series are counted anymore, his highest series was 300 points. The German Fabian Blondeel also managed to score up to 300 points. The best general average (GD) at a Cadre 47/2 World Championship was achieved by the Spaniard Rafael Garcia with 131.90 . The tournament average of 54.08 has never been achieved either . So these records are probably records for eternity.
