The Cadre 45/2 World Championship in 1906 was the fourth FFB World Championship, which was held in Cadre 45/2 until 1947 and from 1948 in Cadre 47/2. The tournament took place from February 20th to March 17th in the Belgian capital, Brussels .
history
For the first time, German participants started at a carom billiards amateur world championship. Since the German Billiards Association was not founded in Germany until 1911, the players took part with a special permit from the French Association. Germany's best at that time, Albert Poensgen from Düsseldorf , took a very good second place. The Swiss Jacques Zweifel, who started for Germany, finished ninth. The Belgian Jean van Duppen was able to defend the title he had won in Paris in 1905. The French Charles Faroux started the tournament again and, like in 1905, broke off the tournament and was disqualified. The games played until then were not counted.
Tournament mode
The whole tournament was played in the round robin system up to 400 points. In the event of a tie in the MPs, the following order is taken:
- MP = match points
- GD = general average
- HS = maximum series
