Brigitte Scherer

Brigitte Scherer (born April 15, 1943 in Berlin ) is a German travel and culture journalist .

Life

After graduating from high school at the Leibnizschule in Offenbach, Scherer studied sociology at the University of Frankfurt am Main and completed a traineeship at the Darmstädter Echo in Darmstadt. In 1969 she joined the editorial staff of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (editorial abbreviation "BS"). Until 2008 she was an editor in the features section, with the main field of work tourism in the travel paper, where she introduced the topics of tourism and air transport policy.

Scherer also worked for other sections of the newspaper. She reported on the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow and 1984 on the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles . In the mid-1980s she reported for some time as a culture correspondent from New York.

Since May 2008 she has been a writer and columnist on travel and other topics in various parts of the newspaper.
