The Cadre 45/2 World Championship in 1924 was the 17th world championship, which was held in Cadre 45/2 until 1947 and from 1948 in Cadre 47/2. The tournament took place from April 28 to May 5, 1924 in Paris , France. After the Fédération Internationale des Amateurs de Billard (FIAB) was renamed Union Internationale des Fédérations des Amateurs de Billard (UIFAB), it took over the organization for the first time and will do so until 1959, when the Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB) takes over .
history
Before the actual tournament, a qualification was played for places 1 to 6 in the finals. The players Charles Darantière Jacques Léger and Emile Garric played a place in round robin mode. The second place in the final round was determined in a game between Albert Corty and Charles Fougeret.
The new world champion Albert Corty set a new amateur world record in the best individual average (BED) in this tournament. He improved the old record from 1923, set by Charles Darantière, to 50.00 .
Tournament mode
The whole tournament was played in the round robin system up to 500 points. In the event of a tie in MPs (except in the event of a tie for the winner), the following order will be used:
- MP = match points
- GD = general average
- HS = maximum series
