The African Carom Confederation (ACC) is the African continental association for carom . It is a member of the world association Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB) and was founded on March 25, 2013 in Cairo .

history

At the UMB General Assembly in December 2012 in Valencia , Spain , the Egyptian Association President of the Egyptian Federation of Billiards Sports (EFBS), El Sharif Al Hussein, announced that he would be joining the European Confédération Européenne de Billard (CEB), whose member Egypt has been a member since 1958 was to break up and found an African association of its own.

Under the auspices of the SECB, the UMB President Jean-Claude Dupont and the seven other founding members from Algeria, Cameroon, Congo, Libya, Morocco, South Africa and Sudan met in Cairo on March 25, 2013. The delegates agreed to set up a confederation called the "African Carom Federation". It was decided to create a board of directors, each composed of one representative from the federation. They unanimously elected El Sharif Al Hussein as the first president of the ACF. The ratification of the founding treaty is expected to be completed by April 30, 2013, with some changes.

In the same year, the first continental "African Championship" is to be organized. It is likely to be linked to the three-cushion World Cup that will take place in Hurghada in December 2013 .

With the establishment of this fourth continental federation, the UMB hopes to strengthen its position in the international world of sport.
