World Billiards (Limited Company or Ltd.) was founded in November 2011 as a subsidiary of the World Professional Billiards & Snooker Association . This also includes the former members of the EBOS (English-Billiards Open Series) and WPBSA, and it is the umbrella organization for English Billiards . EBOS was founded in 2004 by Phil Mumford, Phillip Pelham, Rotton Chapman, Peter Ainsworth, Paul Dunning, Jim Legacy and the late Andrew Grace.

history

The predecessor association was called the "World Billiards and Snooker Association" (WBSA) and organized the English Billiards World Championship for women as early as 1931 and did so until 1979. In 1998, the newly founded women's association "World Ladies Billiards & Snooker Association" took over "(WLBSA). On November 29, 2018, the association was split up and the World Women's Snooker (WWS) was re-established, with the discipline of billiards being assigned to World Billiards, which is now again responsible for both sexes.

As of 2012, the distinction between professional and amateur players was removed and the "WPBSA World Professional Billiards Championship" became the World Billiards Championship . Tournaments are now held in the modern short multiplayer format, the long single game format and the traditional time format.
