The Women's English Billiards World Championship is an international English billiards tournament that has been held intermittently since 1931. It represents the highest title and the most important tournament in the tournament calendar of the women's billiards. The record winner is the Englishwoman Emma Bonney with 13 titles (as of Aug. 2019) . Bonney is also a snooker player and three-time vice world champion there.

history

The world championships were held in two categories, from 1931 to 1950 for professionals and since 1931 also for amateurs. This is the only World Cup currently held. The World Billiards Association has been organized and responsible for the World Championships since December 2018, following the spin-off from the former women's world association WLBS . Initially, the "World Billiards and Snooker Association" (WBSA) was responsible for both categories (until 1979). From 1980 to 1997 there were no World Cups. From 1998 the newly founded women's world association World Ladies Billiards & Snooker Association (WLBSA) took over the organization, from December the association was renamed World Ladies Billiards & Snooker (WLBS).

In contrast to the Snooker World Cup, which has been held exclusively in Sheffield since 1971 or the Billiards World Cup, which is regularly held in Leeds , the venue for the Women's Billiards World Cup "wanders" across the planet. It is held at the end of the year in October. (Status: Aug. 2019)

mode

The World Cup has been held once a year since 2004. The only exception was the year 2014 in which a World Cup was held in April and October. In contrast to the men's World Cup, where both time and points are played, the women only play in time mode, i.e. the tournament management specifies the maximum time to be played (2 hours), and the winner is the player with the most points .
