Three-cushion world rankings

The world ranking list in carom was introduced in 1986, at the same time as the three-cushion world cups . At the moment, games are only played in the three-cushion and single discipline (no team tournaments). In the past, other disciplines such as pentathlon or three-cushion team championships were also played. The umbrella organization is the Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB) .

The game season runs from August to the following July. The venues are not fixed and change. The tournaments take place around the world, so that each continental association is once host. This then has z. B. to award two extra wildcards at the World Cup.

Rating

The tournaments of the current season, with the exception of the three national championships, are used for evaluation in the world rankings (see table below). However, the ranking list is reassessed after each international or national tournament, sometimes up to 30 times a year. The world ranking list points to be awarded are awarded according to a fixed point key (see below ) depending on the importance of the tournament. To be able to participate in the tournaments of the Main Tour, the following rules apply:

Nominations / Qualifiers

Places 22-45 are awarded by the continental associations as follows:

  • World Championship: Europe ( CEB ): 12, America ( CPB ): 8 and Asia ( ACBC ): 4. Places 46 and 47 are awarded via wildcards from the host association, the UMB itself nominates 48 players.
  • World Cup: 52 places (ranks 13-64), which are allocated within a registration period of 3 days. After that there are still open places available for all players.

The 13 most important tournaments of the last two years listed in the table are decisive for the acquisition of points.
