Arabella Steinbacher
Arabella Steinbacher (born November 14, 1981 in Munich ) is a German violinist .
biography
Steinbacher was born in Munich as the daughter of a Japanese woman and the music professor Alexander Steinbacher . At the age of three she took violin lessons; nine years old, she received a scholarship to the University of Music in Munich with Ana Chumachenko , who recognized her exceptional talent and promoted. Steinbacher met Ivry Gitlis in Paris, to whom she owed many musical suggestions, and took part in masterclasses from Dorothy DeLay and Kurt Sassmannshaus in Aspen , Colorado .
In 2003 she performed with the conductor Vladimir Fedosejew in Moscow on the 100th birthday of Aram Khachaturian . Steinbacher's debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Christoph von Dohnányi took place in November 2007 ( Sibelius concert ). The collaboration with von Dohnányi also extended into the following year. In the opening concert of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in 2008 she performed with the NDR Symphony Orchestra , the Violin Concerto by Johannes Brahms .
In April 2011 she made her debut at New York's Carnegie Hall .
Steinbacher plays the Stradivarius violin “Booth”, which was built in 1716 and has been loaned to her by the Nippon Music Foundation since 2006 . She has perfect pitch .
