Daniel Müller-Schott

Daniel Müller-Schott (born November 2, 1976 in Munich ) is a German cellist .

Life

Müller-Schott started playing the cello at the age of six. In 1992, at the age of 15, he won first prize among cellists at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians in Moscow. He studied with Walter Nothas in Munich, Steven Isserlis in Great Britain and Heinrich Schiff in Salzburg and Vienna.

Müller-Schott was the first to receive a scholarship from the Anne Sophie Mutter Foundation with an excellent modern cello. Today he plays Matteo Goffriller's "Ex Shapiro" cello , made in Venice in 1727.

He plays with conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy , Charles Dutoit , Christoph Eschenbach , Yakov Kreizberg , Kurt Masur , Sakari Oramo and Sir André Previn .

In 2008 he was a prizewinner in residence at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival .
