Karla Schneider

Karla Schneider (born November 14, 1938 in Dresden ) is a German writer.

Karla Schneider worked as a bookseller and journalist in the GDR . She moved to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1979 and has lived as a freelance writer in Wuppertal since 1989 . In 1989 she received the Astrid Lindgren Prize from Oetinger Verlag , and in 1993 she was awarded the 2nd prize in the competition for the Bettina von Arnim Prize . In 2008 Schneider was awarded the Alex Wedding Prize . She writes books for both children and adults.
